The liposuction method is the removal of regional lubrication of people who do not have weight problems but want to lose weight locally. In the liposuction method, the excess fat tissue is removed from the body and it is shaped. It is one of the aesthetic operations also known as the fat removal method and is especially applied in stubborn regional lubrication such as the waist, abdomen, hip, and knee. In the liposuction method, the vacuuming method is applied by creating 1–2 mm incisions on the fat tissues and the process is performed in the form of removing the fat from there.

Before having liposuction, it is important for people to be examined by a specialist doctor and to get their opinion. Liposuction is not a weight loss method. It is a method that provides regional slimming and shaping of the body. If there is a general obesity or weight problem other than regional fat, these people should, first of all, get rid of their excess weight by applying for a diet program and doing sports. Then, the liposuction method can be applied to regional fats. However, it is not applied to people who have just given birth or are pregnant. People with chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart disease should be tested before liposuction is performed, risk factors should be determined for these people and necessary precautions should be taken.

In which cases the liposuction method does not work? Let’s talk about this a little bit.

After the liposuction method is done, this method does not prevent weight gain. Therefore, it is important to eat healthily, pay attention to weight and do regular sports in the liposuction method. After the liposuction application, people should determine their lifestyle accordingly. If weight is gained and lost frequently after liposuction, it is not possible for liposuction to be successful. However, if the person has sagging skin along with regional excesses and lubrication, the liposuction method alone is not enough. In particular, sagging of the abdominal wall occurs in women who have given birth. This sagging cannot be resolved with liposuction. In addition, other treatment methods should be applied as the liposuction method is a method that is generally applied in combination with other methods to provide relief.

Fats cause deformity in the body and accumulate in certain places locally. In particular, the appearance of a bagel-like appearance near the waist, the accumulation of fat on the sides of the hips, and the accumulation of fat in my belly area may occur. The liposuction method is also used to shape the area after breast reduction, tummy tuck, and neck lift surgery. By applying liposuction to these areas, the body is formed and shaped. With the liposuction method, both the patient and the doctor decide together on the area to be fat removed. However, the parts that are not generally preferred with the liposuction method are the parts of the butt and legs below the knee.

Another surgery that can be performed for fat reduction is abdominoplasty or tummy tuck operation. It is, on the other hand, an operation in which excess fat is removed from the middle and lower abdomen, sagging skin is corrected, and the abdominal muscles are strengthened. It is possible to get rid of abdominal fat and saggy skin thanks to it. Various techniques are used in tummy tuck surgeries and they can be applied together with surgeries such as breast surgery and liposuction.

Adult men and women who have diet and exercise-resistant fat accumulation in the abdomen, cracked sagging formation in the abdomen, and weakened abdominal muscles can be suitable candidates for abdominoplasty surgery. In women with sagging and weakened abdominal muscles, it is beneficial for people who plan to lose weight and give birth, whose abdomen does not respond to diet and exercise, to postpone the tummy tuck surgery.

In tummy tuck surgery, generally, a transverse incision is made in the lowest part of the abdomen (this incision is low enough to be hidden under a swimsuit) and another incision is made around the belly button. In partial tummy tuck surgery, these incisions are slightly shorter and sometimes an incision may not be made around the belly button. After these incisions are made, the skin is separated from the muscles from the groin to the lower chest. The resulting abdominal muscles are strengthened by the stretching method, and if there is weakness, it is repaired. The skin is then stretched and stitched into place. Excess skin is removed by cutting. Stitches are closed with dressing. Usually, thin tubes called drains are placed under the skin to remove excess fluid that will be collected in the operation area.
